While the outbreak continues, Hong Kong Red Cross (“HKRC”) receives support from the public and responds actively to disseminate personal and environmental hygiene knowledge as well as psychological support messages to the general public, also provide possible assistance to high risks groups in the community.

We have worked closely with the local NGO partners to promote the public health in the community. Therefore, we have started distributing “Infection Control Kits” to the vulnerable groups via various local partners since mid-February.

　　Distribute hygiene supplies and deliver proper hygiene messages

We have distributed “Infection Control Kit”, which includes surgical masks and other personal hygiene items to the vulnerable groups. This campaign will continue until the mid of April and will be covered over 45,000 beneficiaries.

We have distributed

257,782 pieces of surgical masks
36,826 pieces of alcohol-based wet wipes
36,826 packs of disinfectant hand towel
18,413 bottle of alcohol hand sanitiser

Organized health talks and delivered infection control and personal hygiene messages in the community

Mr. Cheung who learned the proper hand-washing skills to prevent the spread of infection

Mr Cheung is 71 years old and suffers from several chronic conditions. He needs to visit the hospital regularly for medical check-ups during the outbreak. 　 Hygiene knowledge and psychological support

HKRC disseminates the updated information of COVID-19, health tips, knowledge on how to manage emotions, etc. through social media channels in order to promote good hygiene practices among the general public. We also provide psychological support service for those who are in distress under the COVID-19 outbreak.
